Study of a beautiful girl with gallerygirlsla last Wednesday.

The second photo is my first attempt at her portrait, and I felt it was uninteresting and academic looking. I’m afraid I was on “auto pilot” with that one, just painting a face instead of trying to translate her personality onto the canvas. This gorgeous model smiled the entire 3 hours! I had to capture her spirit, so I went back and redrew, loosened, generalized, and got rid of some harsh lines in favor of very faint ones.
