Last night’s gallerygirlsla session featured a good friend of mine, mirandatangerine in a three hour pose. I was able to get two angles done. The portrait is done in blackwing & Mitsubishi red/prussian blue pencils, and the full figure is done in Prismacolor non-repro blue, copic_official ink pens and markers on Bristol board. I also included quick thumbnails in the last slide.

“Cleopatra, comin’ atcha!” Monday night I had the pleasure of posing for my first ever Gallery Girls event—the Drink n’ Draw at Raven’s Manor! It was a bloody good time.
I have grown accustomed to modeling nude, so posing with a costume on was actually a bit outside of my comfort zone. I am more “aware” of my body with clothes on the same way I am more aware of my face with makeup on. But as the night went on, I found myself becoming one with the clothing—the beads around my waist and chest, the silk-satin against my breasts, and even the light shimmering, clicking of the headpiece—all began to feel familiar. As I became more comfortable I took deeper owner of my poses, and thus, my power, allowing my intimate knowledge of Cleopatra’s tale to inform the movement of my body. This was a very special session for me and I look forward to more costumed sessions in the future, particularly as this character.
